Training Tidbit: Is there a way to have a field repeat (copy) the data from a prior entry?

There are two different ways to copy or repeat the information from previous entries.  The first is to use the Repeat button if available, and the second is to select the Repeat option for the desired fields within Set Screen Preferences.

The Repeat button RepeatButton appears on all the data entry screens and can be used after the initial entry.  The Repeat button copies the previous entry for the specified field.  The information that will be copied displays to the right of the Repeat button.  Press the Ctrl+R keys to also access this option.

The Repeat option within Set Screen Preferences is also available for all the data entry options and defines which fields to repeat information automatically from the previous entry without requiring an additional keystroke by the user (does not require you to click the Repeat button each time or press the Ctrl+R keys).  To define a field to repeat, go into the desired batch (i.e. a manual journal entry batch) and select the Options menu, then Set Screen Preferences.  Then select the Repeat option for the desired field.  A checkmark will appear in the box if the option is selected.  After setting the desired screen preferences, click the Save button.
