Training Tidbit: When should I complete the SSN Verification Service option?

Now is the time to complete the SSN Verification Service option in the School Accounting System if you haven’t already done so.  By completing the SSN Verification Service option now, you will be assured that your W2s and 1095s will contain correct social security numbers and names for your employees.

The SSN Verification Service option creates a file containing the names, social security numbers, and birthdates of the specified employees.  The file is then submitted to the Social Security Administration for verification.  The Social Security Administration verifies the social security number you have entered for each employee, based on their name and birthdate.  The Social Security Administration then provides you with the results of the verification process.
