Training Tidbit: Is there a way to search for an employee by a social security number?

Did you know an option is available within the Employee File to look up an employee by a social security number? The Search by Social Security Number option is accessed under the Options menu from within the Employee File, and is only available to users who have full rights to social security numbers for employees.

To search for an employee by social security number, complete the following:

  • From within the Employee File, select the Options menu and then Search by Social Security Number.
  • When prompted, enter the social security number (9 digits and enter with or without the dashes) and then click OK.
  • If an employee is found with the specified social security number, the system will bring up the employee’s record; otherwise, if an employee is not found, a message will appear instead.
