Version 22.12.22.01

Note: For those districts that have the Web Link module, you will also need to be at Web Link version 22.12.22.01 (or higher, if applicable) since this update contains changes that affect both products simultaneously. Web Link updates must be downloaded through the File Transfer Center and installed on the web server.

• Important Tax Information
  • Tax Tables with changes for 2023: Colorado State Income Tax, Federal Income Tax, Social Security (limit change only), Illinois State Income Tax, Iowa State Income Tax, Minnesota State Income Tax, Missouri State Income Tax, Montana State Income Tax, Nebraska State Income Tax, New York State Income Tax, and North Dakota State Income Tax
  • Tax Tables with NO changes for 2023: Federal Unemployment, Kansas City Local Income Tax, Kansas State Income Tax, Idaho State Income Tax, Medicare, Ohio State Income Tax, St. Louis Local Income Tax, Virginia State Income Tax, and Wisconsin State Income Tax
  • States with unemployment Taxable Wage Base changes for 2023: Idaho, Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota, and Wyoming
  • States with NO unemployment Taxable Wage Base changes for 2023: Kansas, Nebraska, and South Dakota
  • States that have yet to release unemployment Taxable Wage Base changes for 2023: Illinois
  • Once you install the 22.12.22.01 update, you will have the released 2023 information for the federal, state and local income taxes and unemployment taxable wage base limits for applicable states. To view and verify this information, please print the appropriate documents using the links below. The tables in these documents MUST be compared to your tax information in the Taxes option under the Maintenance menu in Payroll prior to calculating your first payroll in January 2023.
  • If you are currently using the Negotiations module with the School Accounting System, the 2023 tax and unemployment information will update automatically upon installing the update.

• Master Menu>User Controls
  • When adding a new user in User Security, if they are given access to any module in the School Accounting System (excluding the Web Link module), then the user must have at least Read Only Access to the SAS Main Screen. A prompt will display indicating the record must be corrected before it can be saved.
• Payroll>Check Cycle
  • Beginning in 2023, the state income tax calculation for Iowa has changed. The federal withholding amount is no longer subtracted from taxable wages before determining the amount of Iowa state withholding.
• Payroll>Maintenance
  • The 2023 W4 has been added to the system for use on the Employee Personal Changes – Federal W4 screen found on the Taxes tab in the Employee File.
• Payroll>Government Reporting
  • Idaho: In the Idaho Retirement Report, if there are employees (those with retirement deduction amounts) without the Schedule Name/Frequency Code custom field completed, a message will appear, and a list of employees can be viewed when generating the report.
  • Wyoming: The Pay Code Description has been added to the Pay Period Entries screen in the Wyoming Staff Member Collection Report.
• Human Resources>Maintenance
  • In the Positions option, if there are employees listed in the Position Employees List, you will no longer be able to delete an existing position.
