FAQ: How are career increments handled in Negotiations?

There are two ways to handle career increments in the Negotiations module:

  • The best option is to add the necessary steps to the appropriate lanes on the salary schedule to include the amounts for the career increments.  With this option, the system will automatically track when an employee gets the extra amount.
  • The second option is to enter the amount of the career increment in the Additional Dollars field or the Additional Percent field (whichever is applicable) on the Negotiations tab of the Wages screen in the Employee File.  With this option, you will manually have to track when the employee begins to earn the career increment and complete the appropriate field at that time.
