How does the system calculate the amount entered in the Additional Dollars field or the Additional Percent field (in the Wages screen of the Employee File) for a contract employee in Negotiations?

The system adds the additional dollar amount or percentage to the salary amount for the employee’s step and lane and then adds anything extra for the employee (i.e. extra days and additional degree hours). If an employee has both an additional dollar amount and an additional percentage, the system calculates the additional percentage first and then adds the additional dollar amount. Once the additional percentage and dollar amount have been calculated, the system will add any extra pay (i.e. extra days and additional degree hours).

Note: If an employee has additional days and the Use Daily Rate For Additional Days field is selected when building the Salary Totals table, the system will include the additional dollars, additional percentages, additional degree hours, and additional days when figuring their daily rate.
