Training Tidbit: Iowa Retirement Variance Report

Did you know the Iowa Retirement Variance Report is available for Iowa customers to determine if there is a variance between the retirement gross and the FUTA gross wages for employees in an unposted (or posted) payroll calculation batch. Normally, the retirement gross should equal the FUTA gross wages, and so the Iowa Retirement Variance Report will print an asterisk at the end of the line for any employee in a payroll calculation batch that has a variance.

The Iowa Retirement Variance Report is accessed under the Check Cycle menu in Payroll, then Pre-Check Reports. The report can be generated as part of a check cycle in order to resolve any issues immediately that are included in the batch.
Note: The IA Monthly and Quarterly Retirement Variance Reports are also available within the Iowa Monthly Retirement Report option to show any variances within the month or quarter if the Iowa Retirement Variance Report was not generated during the check cycle.
