Training Tidbit: Tips for Keying Amounts
Below are two tips regarding keying amounts within the School Accounting System:
- The system can be set up to assume a decimal point in order to automatically include two decimal places when a particular user keys amounts in the School Accounting System. For example, if 25000 is entered, the system will insert a decimal point automatically to make the amount be $250.00. To have the system assume a decimal point when keying amounts (for a user), select the Assume Decimal field located within the User Options option. A checkmark will appear in the box if the Assume Decimal field is selected (on).
- When keying amounts into the School Accounting System, you do not need to enter .00 for amounts that are whole dollars, except if the Assume Decimal feature is on.
