Training Tidbit: Tips for Keying Amounts

Below are two tips regarding keying amounts within the School Accounting System:

  1. The system can be set up to assume a decimal point in order to automatically include two decimal places when a particular user keys amounts in the School Accounting System.  For example, if 25000 is entered, the system will insert a decimal point automatically to make the amount be $250.00.  To have the system assume a decimal point when keying amounts (for a user), select the Assume Decimal field located within the User Options option.  A checkmark will appear in the box if the Assume Decimal field is selected (on).
  2. When keying amounts into the School Accounting System, you do not need to enter .00 for amounts that are whole dollars, except if the Assume Decimal feature is on.
