What must I do before completing the SSN Verification Service option?
You must first sign up for the Social Security Number Verification Service (SSNVS) from within the Business Services Online (BSO) website, which will require a pre-authorization process, in order to submit the file to the Social Security Administration for verification. For more information, go to http://www.ssa.gov/employer/ssnv.htm and complete the instructions under the Steps to Register for SSNVS section to register, request access, and request an activation code.
