Training Tidbit: Affordable Care Act Hours Tracking Option and Additional Help

As you know, the Affordable Care Act Hours Tracking option and the ACA Hours screen in the Employee File are now available in the School Accounting System and aid in tracking hours worked for new and ongoing employees in order to determine if employees are considered full time and then must be offered health insurance.

Within the Affordable Care Act Hours Tracking option, the measurement, administrative, and stability periods are defined for ongoing and new employees, and the information for the employees, including the hours worked and whether or not they are considered full time or trending towards full time, can be viewed.  For detailed instructions on setting up and utilizing the Affordable Care Act Hours Tracking option within the School Accounting System, refer to the Affordable Care Act Hour Tracking Completion Checklist topic in the Help File.  Webinars covering this topic are also available; to register for an upcoming webinar, access the Training Calendar on our website.

Additional Help:  The Missouri School Boards’ Association published an excellent document, which they have permitted us to share, for information on school district obligations for offering health care coverage to eligible employees under the Affordable Care Act; click here to access the Missouri School Boards’ Association document.  The information in the document is applicable for school districts in all states and not just those located in Missouri.
