Training Tidbit: Affordable Care Act Hours Tracking Option Information and Resources

There are several different resources available for help with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Hours Tracking option in the School Accounting System.

  • Option Overview:  The ACA Hours Tracking option in Payroll aids in tracking hours worked for new and ongoing employees in order to determine if employees are considered full time and then must be offered health insurance.  For more information on the option, refer to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Hours Tracking Option topic in the Help File.
  • Valuable Information on Affordable Care Act and School District Obligations:  The Missouri School Boards’ Association published an excellent document, which they have permitted us to share, for information on school district obligations for offering health care coverage to eligible employees under the Affordable Care Act; click here to access the Missouri School Boards’ Association document. The information in the document is applicable for school districts in all states and not just those located in Missouri.
  • Completion Checklist:  There are five steps that must be completed in order to set up and utilize the ACA Hours Tracking option in the School Accounting System; refer to the ACA Hours Tracking Completion Checklist topic in the Help File for detailed instructions.
  • Tutorials:  There are six short video tutorials available for the Affordable Care Act Hours Tracking option.  There is one for each of the five steps on the ACA Hours Tracking Completion Checklist, and one additional tutorial for completing the Adjustments tab.  To view the tutorials, click on the links below.
