Training Tidbit: After implementing the Nebraska ESSA changes, how can I verify that my accounts comply with the state?
In Nebraska, to verify your account numbers meet the state’s new reporting requirements for the ESSA changes, complete the Nebraska Annual Report – Test Upload option in the School Accounting System. With the Nebraska Annual Report – Test Upload option, which is accessed from the Government Reporting menu on the General Ledger screen, a test file is created that can then be uploaded to the state’s website.
The test upload file will be in the required format used for the FY2019 annual report, and will include the revenue and expenditure account numbers in the specified funds for the designated fiscal year, including the active account numbers with or without a balance and the inactive account numbers with a balance.

Note: The Nebraska Annual Report – Test Upload option should only be completed after doing all the steps for implementing the changes with the account structure and account numbers for compliance with the ESSA requirements, which includes completing the ESSA Account Number Changes option and doing crosswalks for the updated revenue, function, and object codes.
