Training Tidbit: For Wyoming, the state has revenue code 83120 defined as State Special Education Reimbursement, but it shows as State Land Income in the software; how do I fix this?

According to the state, the revenue code 83120 was previously defined as State Land Income but was retired a long time ago, and it is now defined as State Special Education Reimbursement.  To update this in your data (if it is not already done), go into the Revenues Reference Files (accessed from the Maintenance menu in General Ledger, Reference Files, and then Revenues), bring up the revenue code 83120, change the description in the Revenue Description field to be State Special Education Reimbursement, and save the changes.  Also, go into the Chart of Accounts (accessed from the Maintenance menu in General Ledger) and look to see if there are any account numbers currently defined with the revenue code 83120; if there are, bring up the account numbers, change the description in the Chart of Account Description field if needed, and save the changes.

Tip:  Click here to access the state accounting manual for Wyoming school districts to view the latest definitions of the codes used in account numbers.  If any crosswalks need to be completed in order to change existing account numbers (or codes used in account numbers) to new numbers as defined by the state, refer to the Crosswalk Options topic in the Help File for additional details.
